While we’re all snuggled up in our homes staying safe you might need a little pick me up, right? A great way to get that is by getting some happy mail.
Is anyone else online shopping way more these days? No, just me? Ok.
I recently received a really amazing care package from a friend I was supposed to go on a girls trip with. A group of us had planned for months to go to Bordeaux France for a girls weekend. The fact that we were able to find a weekend that five women with families all had available and our husband’s would be home to watch the kids was a small miracle. But the trip obviously didn’t happen. We were all devastated.
So one of our sweet friends sent us a little pick me up care package with mini bottles of wine and chocolates on the day we were supposed to be leaving for the trip. It definitely made the weekend at home much sweeter. I was so grateful for the care package!
What’s even better than getting a care package? Sending it!
It’s so important right now to be the light to brighten someone’s day. Sending a quarantine care package is such a thoughtful way of doing so. Need some help with ideas on what to send? I’ve broken down several different categories of people that would love to receive a quarantine care package.
Quarantine Care Package Ideas
New Moms
First up is new moms. I can’t imagine bringing a newborn baby into this world right now. I guess the only saving grace is that, I know for me anyway, after I’ve had my babies, I am usually just sitting at home all day for months feeding them and changing diapers. So quarantine life isn’t all that different.
Here are some great little gifts that any new mom would love to receive.
Every new mom is operating on little to no sleep. Gift her with some eye cream that will help fight dark circles, puffiness, and fine lines and wrinkles.
I know I’m a ravenous beast when I’m breastfeeding. Especially in those early days. A box of snacks just for her is a great gift.
Not that she will have a ton of time, but a lot of new moms receive help during those first few weeks at home with a newborn. Gifting her with some personalized stationary for thank you cards and notes is super thoughtful.
Send these all together in a big welcome home/quarantine care package or pick and choose just one. I know any new mom will appreciate these ideas. I know I would when I first had a baby.
And if you know anyone that’s pregnant right now, I did a whole post on pregnancy care packages. Read that here and bless some mommas to be in your life!
Operation: Entertain the Kids
So many of us are stuck inside with our kids. And although we love them, they can drive you absolutely crazy.
Coming up with ideas for them is basically a full time job in my house. Any of these classes or activity boxes would be great to just give them and let them run without much guidance from me.
Alison at Memories in Moments has a subscription activity box with crafts, recipes, table top products, and tons of other fun ideas all themed around a holiday like Easter. It might be too late to get an Easter box, but be on the lookout for the next themed box.
What’s better than balloons? Not much if you ask a kid. This balloon box has everything you need to keep the kids entertained and it also teaches them how to do balloon animals.
If you know a child with a passion for art and crafts. Gift them this watercolor class. It’s all digital which is great so it’s 100% social distancing safe. I’ve taken other classes of Emily’s and she’s a great teacher.
For the Family
If you want to send a quarantine care package for not just the kids but the whole family, try one of these ideas.
Family game night seems to be every night these days so try this game. I’ve heard really good things. Young House Love also recommends a ton of different family games. You can check them out here.
Movie nights are another thing that are happening basically every night since we’re home all the time. Sending a quarantine care package to a family you love with this projector a bunch of popcorn and snacks would make the perfect movie night.
I like this one because the reviews are really good, plus it comes with a screen already so you don’t have to purchase that separately. How fun would it be to have an outdoor movie night? This little projector can do that too.
Want to feel really connected to your neighbors? Have an outdoor movie night where they can view the screen from their own yard too and then you’ll all be watching a movie together!
If you want to send something that is a little more active to a family you want to cheer up, try this table top tennis game. It adjusts to fit any table and is super portable which I love.
For Your Girlfriends
If you are missing your girl time like I am I highly recommend sending a little something to stay connected with your friends. At the very least it will give you an excuse to call or text each other about the gift.
I am loving this inexpensive but highly rated initial necklace. It’s the perfect little everyday jewelry piece.
Encourage self care by sending your girlfriends a little ray of sunshine in a care package. This is my favorite sunless tanner. It’s the perfect time of year to start working on our “tans” before summer. Adding this lotion in to the mix helps to keep the tan going longer.
I am normally not a nail polish girl, mostly because of so many years in a Navy uniform where it is basically forbidden. But right now, some fun nail colors are bringing me all kinds of joy. Plus I actually have the time to sit and let them dry without smudging them.
It’s also a great time to try something a little new and different. If you mess up who cares, no one is going to see it! I’d love to try this dip nail set. The reviews make it seem pretty easy to do yourself at home.
If you want to support a small business while sending your quarantine care package, check out this adorable boutique. This store was in the last town we lived and it’s super cute with really unique little gifts.
Right now they are putting together care packages based off of info you give them about the recipient and they package and mail them right to their door. So convenient and you’ll feel good supporting a small business.
Quarantine Care Package Tracker
If you are just overflowing with ideas and want to bless a ton of people in your life, I created this little quarantine care package tracker for you. It will help keep things organized that you want to send and whether or not you’ve actually sent them.
Sending a package to everyone at once could be overwhelming, so write it all down and each week decide to send just one care package. How fun to look forward to blessing someone on a regular basis through this crisis.
Just click the picture below to download your own quarantine care package tracker. Or print it out to use it for any other time of the year when you need to keep track of gifts and addresses (hello, baby showers, birthdays, graduations, and Christmas!).
Do you see anything listed above you definitely want to send to someone? Or get for yourself? I hope this gives you some idea of things that you could maybe do for others during this really stressful and uncertain time. Use the links above or use them as a jumping off point with your own ideas!
