I had such a great conversation this week with my new friend, Nicole McKinley. We got to talk all about owning party businesses, and specifically how her mom tribe has helped to launch and support her business. There were also so many other great pieces of advice she offered, so read on and listen to this week’s episode to hear it all!
What’s in the Episode
Like I said, we covered a lot of ground on this episode, but I hope it leaves you feeling motivated to host a party and then enjoy it yourself.
- Nicole has an amazing party business on Etsy. She offered advice on starting an Etsy shop and how her mom tribe helped her to launch her business.
- Speaking of her mom tribe, she talks about how it took a little bit of bravery from one person to develop a large group of women supporting each other for almost seven years. It doesn’t take much to start and build an amazing community. Just be brave and do it.
- Nicole had so much good party advice from not using a small space as an excuse to not host and not letting rain deter you from celebrating. She explains how there is a balance to all parties and where you focus your efforts.
- When parties are the business you’re in, there are other factors to consider when hosting. We talk about how to get things done for your party ahead of time so you get the business side of celebrating done and then can be a guest at your own party and enjoy it.
- Entrepreneurship runs in her family as Nicole’s brother, a Marine Corps veteran has his own food truck company that employs other vets. His menu sounds delicious!
- Finally, you have to listen to hear Nicole’s heart behind how she’s using her Etsy shop to give back to other communities. Plus, with your purchases you can help too.
