I hope you all are surviving, staying healthy, and staying home. I wanted to offer you something to keep you and your kids busy during April, because I’m thinking we’ll all still be stuck at home.
With all of the homeschooling taking place, I keep looking for ways to incorporate a lesson into everything. This month we get to celebrate Earth Day, and it makes a really great teaching lesson.
Get all the Earth Day Activities for FREE in this Month’s Party Plan
I’m not sure if you’ve seen, but this year I launched a subscription service. A monthly curated party all packaged up nicely in your inbox. You can read more about it here and get all your questions answered.
But with the current lockdown situation happening across the world and no one gathering, I shifted this month’s party plan a bit. Instead of gathering together, this month is all about celebrating at home with your kids.
And because of the current economic situation I wanted to help everyone in such an uncertain time. Although the subscription is normally very reasonably priced, I’m offering everything in this months At Home Earth Day Celebration for Kids party for FREE!!!!
All you have to do is click here or on the picture below to go to the shop page. Then add the party plan to your cart and the full party plan will be sent to your email inbox. You can download the checklist and clickable party plan to start celebrating.
What Comes in the April Party Plan
What all do you get for free?
Let’s just start with SO MANY ACTIVITIES! I’m all about activities right now. With two small kids home all the time we need some guided things to do. Don’t get me wrong, letting them be bored is fine too. But after hearing “I don’t know what to do” so many times, these activities are great to have in your pocket ready to go.
There are five activities of varying levels of difficulty to do with your kids. All of them have an Earth Day theme. So you’re not only getting an activity to keep your kids busy, but a chance to talk to them about how to reduce, reuse, and recycle things to keep the Earth healthy.
Tutorials on how to DIY the party decor is also included. The best part is it’s simple enough for your kids to help you make it. I don’t think it’s silly at all to have party decor up even when it’s just you and your family celebrating. I bet it brings you some joy and a change of scenery when you’re tired of looking at the same walls in your house.
The best way to really carry a theme throughout the day is through food. Make each meal time (Lord knows we’re all eating every meal at home these days) a fun experience for you and your kids. I provide you with simple recipes and inspiration for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. They all have fun Earth Day themes as well.
The special addition in this months party plan is several book recommendations. Each talks about how the Earth works and how to take care of it. They are all great recommendations for kids from Pre-K through third grade.
How to Make the Party Plan Work for You
I know everyone is feeling overwhelmed right now, and I don’t want to add more to your plate. This is a resource and I want you to use it as such.
There are so many good online free resources right now, it’s almost too much.
So be sure to keep this plan in your back pocket and only do as much or as little as you want. There’s no need to do every activity or make every meal or snack.
If it helps, spread the activities out over the entire month. I mean we’re all going to be home for a long time so having several things to do throughout the month isn’t a bad idea.
I also recommend having your kids help with a lot of these activities. Have them help you, with supervision, cut up the fruit and veggies needed for snacks, or mix together ingredients for the dirt cups. My daughter has enjoyed making the pinwheels herself after watching how I did it.
There are so many ways to include the family, spread the activities out, and discuss how to be good stewards of our planet.
Why I Think You Should Still Be Celebrating at Home.
It’s such a crazy time right now. Having a party at home may be the last thing you are thinking about or want to do. But I still think you should. Here’s why.
We all need some hope and good vibes right now. Hearing the news that the US now has the most cases of Coronavirus is disturbing. It’s made me grateful that we live in the UK and aren’t “back home” dealing with this on such a bigger scale. So a party or at home celebration is a welcome distraction. And fun party decor hanging up around your house will definitely brighten your spirits.
We all need some sense of normalcy. It’s normal for us to have people over or celebrate and spend time with others. Because we can’t right now, having a similar celebration on our own at home is somewhat normal.
One positive side effect of everyone staying home is that the Earth is starting to do things it hasn’t done in awhile. It’s healing itself with less human intervention. Now is the perfect time to talk to your kids about how to help keep the Earth clean and healthy.
It’s totally free to use this guide for Earth Day activities. Why not download it? It’s also completely curated for you so you don’t have to spend tons of time searching for activities or ideas. Just check your email for the whole party all in one place.
