Wow, it’s been a long time, since I’ve written a regular blog post. I’ve been a little busy getting my new podcast, Conversations with the Hostess, off the ground.
Have you listened yet? I highly recommend starting with episode one and learning why I started the podcast.
Even with the podcast I still want to blog and bring you party inspiration just like I have done for the past five years.
Today I’m bringing you some baby shower inspiration. I recently had the pleasure of planning a virtual baby shower for a client.
Did you know I offer custom virtual party planning?
I can chat with you about your party and then design and source all of the things you need for the party and email it right to you.
It saves you hours of time searching Pinterest for ideas and frustration looking for all the right things on Amazon and other retailers.
If you have questions about custom party plans you can always email me at thedailyhostess@gmail.com or purchase a custom party plan here.
But back to the baby shower.
If you are still in quarantine conditions or are concerned with opening your home up to a large number of people, I highly recommend throwing a virtual party.
What does a virtual baby shower entail?
Well, you basically host a Zoom meeting in front of a fun party related backdrop. In my custom party plan I designed a really cute pink and white elephant themed background that you can see below.
This is the type of design plan I send to all of my clients. It helps to visually plan your party space and I show you right where to put everything.
See the cute momma to be of the party I planned below.
During a virtual baby shower all of your guests are still able to feel like they are present at the event without physically being in the same space.
This is such a great way to host a party even when we’re not in quarantine especially if you live far away from family and friends.
Hosting a virtual party allows elderly family members the option of not traveling to the event. Or long time friends that live in other states or countries to attend as well.
What do you do at a virtual baby shower?
You can play traditional baby shower games that are adapted for a Zoom call. I included several game options in the virtual party plan I made.
Opening gifts that have been delivered to you and toasting to the new parents are other great things to do while on the call.
Something many guests would love to see especially if they live further away is a nursery room tour. Many guests that attend a virtual baby shower probably won’t ever get to see the nursery in person, so this is the next best thing.
And after working hard to create a cute space for the baby, the parents will be excited to show their hard work.
How do I set up a virtual baby shower?
I’ve got all the technology resources for you not to worry about anything.
I put together this step by step guide to setting up and inviting guests to a Zoom virtual baby shower that I wanted to share with you.
Just click here or on the picture below to download the checklist.
Following this you won’t have to worry about getting everyone in the right place at the right time. And hopefully it helps eliminate any tech questions you might get from your guests.
What are the benefits of a virtual baby shower?
“Appreciate your help making our daughter’s day special!! I LOVED it because did not have to clean, did not wear shoes and no left overs.”
That is the feedback I got from my virtual baby shower client.
I hadn’t even thought about the fact that a virtual baby shower would almost completely eliminate any sort of party clean up. What a bonus!
I also love that you don’t have to buy a bunch of food for party guests and try to figure out how much to buy, deal with leftovers, or picky eaters.
As a self proclaimed over the top party decorator, hosting this type of party still allows for a party vibe with decorations, but they are all focused in one area.
This is one of my biggest party styling tips and it serves a virtual Zoom party so well.
What parties are you hosting virtually?
During quarantine and even for a while afterwards I’m sure you will have to virtually host a party. What parties have you hosted this way?
Were there benefits to it that you hadn’t thought of?
Would you allow someone else to plan it for you to save you time, money, and stress?
If so, you know where to find me 😉
