This week’s podcast episode is so good!  Like, you’re going to want to share it with a friend good. My guest, shares her lifelong journey of moving as a military child and now a military spouse.  But along the way she advises us on the best ways to nurture the community in your life.

Margaret is one of the kindest friends I know, and the biggest supporter of women.  If you’re a woman and need some encouragement, this is definitely an episode to listen to.

What’s in The Episode

This episode was full of encouragement, advice, and ways to nurture your community.

  • Margaret tells us about her experience of growing up as a child in a military family and now how she navigates being a military spouse. I especially loved hearing that she always asked where people are from so she can find a commonality with them.
  • We also talk about feeling like you have a home when you move around a lot.  Plus, what retirement will look like after the military and a lifetime of change.
  • Margaret shares how having an openness, vulnerability and falling forward is the best way to meet people and introduce yourself.  Being able to quickly figure out if you can be friends with someone is important to her because of the inevitable change that the military lifestyle brings.
  • She has excellent advice on hoe to support and nurture new moms in your community.  She dropped some major knowledge on what needs to be included at baby showers and I will ensure is a part of any baby shower I plan in the future.
  • Although no one is traveling much right now, Margaret has excellent advice on travelling with kids.  The best part of the podcast was when she gave me permission not to worry about not getting to every country while we’re stationed in the European area.
  • Finally, when it comes to hardships, Margaret talks about honoring the hardships people have and meeting them where they are.  I came away from the conversation with the reminder to not feel guilty about what’s normal for me even if it might not compare to what others are doing.
  • She also shares some really great tips for any Halloween parties you might be having soon.  A couple of great party games that the kids and adults will surely love.

What I’m Bingeing

This week I’m loving Brow Boost from Rodan + Fields.  It’s such a simple way to get a bold brow look.  I’m not one for complicated steps to get a certain look.  So I was excited to try this since it’s one simple product. Just look at how transformative a good brow product can be!
