How to Build a Deep Family Connection

Here are just some of the highlights from the episode.  But I highly recommend listening to this one to hear the story behind The Busy Bee.  There’s one person in particular I’d love to be best friends with, and it isn’t my guests but one of their Grandmas! Although Shannon and Jenna are really great too!

  • The Busy Bee and all of their hosting experience started as litter girls learning from their Grandma’s.
  • Both Shannon and Jenna moved away from home, but felt pulled back to where their family lives and decided to go into business together. The story of how their business started and what they’ve done throughout the years is fascinating.  They’ve been so successful as they’ve transitioned and narrowed in on their passion helping others host.
  • Shannon and Jenna share so many of their #hostfulhacks, little tips that help anyone hosting a party do it in an easier way. Things like how to be more present at your gathering and how to not get overwhelmed when throwing a kids birthday party.
  • They both talk extensively about how making family get togethers a priority is key when it comes to developing that deep connection with your family.  I even got some great advice on how to stay connected when living far away from my family and grandparents.
  • Jenna was also a military spouse while her husband was in the Army.  She talks about how she had to make family out of the friends she had while her husband was deployed.  She did that by being brave and inviting them into her home.  Thankfully she found some amazing friends that were in the delivery room with her during her first pregnancy while her husband was deployed.  If you don’t take the chance to host and make friends you could miss out on lifelong friendships and experiences.
  • Jenna also tells us some horror stories we can all relate to when it comes to hosting kids’ birthday parties.  But don’t worry she also shares how to avoid the overwhelm of a kids’ birthday party.
  • Both Shannon and Jenna speak a lot about letting go of perfection and just invite others because it always feels good to be invited to someone’s home.
  • They can give you all the tips on how to make hosting easier with their hosting guides too.  Get the links to them below!
