I recently got to have a conversation with Amy Hawthorne from The Ever Co and it all started because of something she shared on Instagram.

I came across her profile from another influencer I follow and connected so much with her story.  Then she shared that she used to fly helicopters in the Army.  I was so excited because I found someone else that went from Active Duty military to having a celebration company.

An almost complete parallel to my story.  So listen in this week as Amy shares her story going from helicopters to glitter and why celebrating should always be a priority.

Listen Now to Prioritizing Celebrations

Once Amy began telling her story of moving from the Army to owning a celebration business she continually weaved the importance of priorities throughout it.

  • Amy and I began our conversation talking about our college experiences in ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Corps) and how that unconventional experience can totally bond a group of people.
  • Amy has moved frequently but has used social media to make a lot of friends wherever she goes.  I also thought it was interesting how the community their family spends time with changes as their workload changes.
  • Another super interesting thing we talked about was the ability to have such a multifaceted lifestyle.  We both have a stern military side of our lives, but also a creative celebratory side.  Her description of having equal passions is the perfect way to describe this type of lifestyle.
  • With The Ever Co, Amy is encouraging us all to celebrate all the holidays, not just the major ones.  Plus, her products are neutral enough to be able to wear them year round.  This really takes into mind those that don’t have a lot of extra funds to spend on each and every holiday.
  • The Ever Co’s diversity line is all about celebrating those that help make the world a more colorful place.  You can hear how proud Amy is to include these products and use them while celebrating her own culture.

What I’m Bingeing

This week on the podcast I talked about two trainers on Youtube that I’ve been using a lot.  I’ve really stepped up the number and length of my workouts and I’m loving these two trainers.

Heather Robertson is a great one to follow if you want more of a DIY workout where you just follow along.  She shows you the exercises and then you can enjoy the music she picks out (it’s all great!) while following along with the exercise.

Sydney Cummings is one to follow if you want more of a coach encouraging you throughout the workout.
