This week’s episode has a TON of value about creating a community.  Especially a community when you’re not near your family and friends.  Plus how to turn that into a fierce community that is ready and willing to meet your needs.

It’s a good one I think you should definitely listen to!  Scroll down to listen here, or click here to listen on Apple podcasts, and click here to listen on Spotify.

What I’m Binge-ing

This week’s binge-ing segment is brought to you by the beach!  Yep, we went on a quick little get away to the south coast of England and thoroughly enjoyed it.

We really needed to get away from home, work, school since they were really the only places we’ve been since March.

The waves, salty air, and sand between our toes was just what we needed.

But next time we’ll be sure to use more sunscreen!

Do You Have a Fierce Community?

This week, I interviewed Kayty Helgerson from Gather Intentional Living.  We met on Instagram and after listening to her podcast, Making Room, I knew I needed to have her as a guest.

She has such a beautiful heart for approaching hosting with grace, vulnerability, and authenticity.  I loved hearing her perspective on all things hosting.

  • We talked about why she thinks people are so afraid or hesitant to invite people over and host them.
  • I loved her experience that sometimes the best outcome of inviting people over is creating a birthplace of other friendships.
  • Kayty is a firm believer that grace is needed in hosting.
  • We talked a lot about navigating living abroad with your family and how to make your space your own even in a different culture.
  • She gives great advice on how to develop a fierce community where your needs are met even before you knew you needed them.
  • Kayty also has several dietary restrictions that make hosting more interesting, but she is so knowledgeable in how to approach it as a host and as a guest.
  • Gather also offers so many options in person and online for hospitality workshops for building charcuterie boards and cake decorating.  Definitely check out their classes to hone your hosting skills!

It was a great conversation with so much heart behind it.  There is a ton of value packed into the episode, so be sure to listen in while out on a run, driving in your car, doing dishes (again!) or while socially distance grocery shopping!
